Ball Cactus: A Guide to Growing and Caring for this Unique and Eye-Catching Plant

Ball cacti, also known as globe cacti or pearl cacti, are a unique and eye-catching group of plants that are perfect for those looking for a low-maintenance, yet striking addition to their indoor or outdoor garden. These cacti are native to South America and are part of the Parodia genus.

Ball cacti come in a variety of sizes, with most mature plants growing between 2 to 4 inches in diameter. They are known for their round, smooth surface and their distinctive, spherical shape. The color of ball cacti can range from green to yellow, and they may have spines or be spineless.

Parodia cacti, also known as brasiliopuntia, are small, globe-shaped cacti that come in a variety of colors and sizes. They are native to South America and are quite easy to care for when grown indoors. With the proper light, soil, and watering schedule, parodia cacti can thrive in containers.

Location: Parodia cacti prefer bright, sunny spots, but they should not be placed in direct sunlight. Place them near a south- or east-facing window so they can receive plenty of bright light.
